Special NQ Training: “Magnetotelluric (MT) for Geothermal Exploration”

Magnetotelluric (MT) imaging is the most powerful method to reconstruct a geothermal system model based on resistivity distribution. MT can be used to define top of reservoir, delineate geometry of reservoir and determine well target zones. However, MT technology need to be applied carefully from data acquisition, processing, and modeling to avoid misleading.
In order to celebrate 10 years of NewQuest Geotechnology (NQ) contributions and express our gratitude of NQ achievements, NQ organize several series of events under NQ 10 Years Annivesary including Special NQ Workshop. The Workshop will deliver an interesting topic entitled “Magnetotelluric (MT) for Geothermal Exploration” which will be presented by Dr. Eng. Yunus Daud, M.Sc., He is Head of Geothermal Research Center in Universitas Indonesia and also the Founder of NewQuest Geotechnology.
What should be considered in applying MT technology? What are its challenges? And how to overcome the challenges?
