Gravity Survey and Magnetotelluric Data Processing of Jailolo Geothermal Prospect Area, West Halmahera

NewQuest Geotechnology (NQ) has completed the Gravity Survey And Magnetotelluric Data Processing Project for the Jailolo Geothermal Prospect Area, West Halmahera which was assigned by Geo Dipa Energi (GDE).
The gravity survey accompanied by coordinate measurement using Differential GPS has been carried out on 50 stations on Mount Jailolo and its surroundings. Then the gravity data processing was conducted both on new data as well as the previous gravity data which give an excellent correlation of 98%.
The existing MT data have been processed using advanced technology and improving the data quality from 52% to 99% of good to excellent quality. Furthermore, 3-D modeling of MT data is carried out to image the subsurface resistivity structure.
Both Gravity and MT models have a good correlation with geological structure. It convinces us that when all data have been processed properly, it will conclude the same subsurface condition.
We keep striving to provide a proper approach to field surveys, data processing, subsurface modeling, and integrated interpretation to have a deep understanding of the subsurface geothermal system.
